ok just for everyone, as i do niot care about idiot tuners out there ripping people off!
this is what all these muppets out there including the best dyno tuners are doing with your cars.

this is particular for the "300kw mafless tune"
find the code for your pcm using a key finder ( can take hours, this is where its costly )
they then copy your bin file (tune)
they then take a no lie 300 kw mafless gts tune ( hsv gts came with mafless 300kw tune)
they then get it to run two ignition timing maps
slap it in your pcm with minimal tweaking
and whalla good to go!
that is not, nothing else, no special custom super tuning for your hotrod super v8 flux capacitor time machine vx ss hyper drive generating ls9 hsv, just copy paste, slap good to go!
i was so devostated to find this out i nearly cried, one guy on ebay will do this for $80 + postage and will tweak anything else you want

How do u know he does this. He locks his tunes so how can u tell?

So does one tune fit all. These cars really?
Phoar! I want to cry too - I just wasted $7k on professional experience, tools and the latest equipment when I could of just learned that bit about getting a file, putting it in, and whalla.
If I have a problem with my $70k V8 I'm definitely going to look into an anonymous random to stitch me a solution from eBay next time. Thanks.

Nah I'm dead set serious as cancer, it doesn't matter if someone locks a tune, there are key finders, you can always ask for a unlocked tuned pcm, the 300kw tune is the base map, the only difference is the tune and exhaust some hsv have a very very very small mild cam but that's it

Thanks for that. So it is possible to download theses binary files for free (or cheap on disc) from some place and unlock with a PC program called Key Finder?
Once file received, unlocked and checked, what interface (ODBII to USB?) and software do you need to clear existing tune and write the new one?
Can you point to DIY links, approx pricing?

Not sure about the accuracy of this for cheap eBay stuff but its its completely misinformed and inaccurate in relation to the original question about a professional company like OzTrack who have thousands of highly satisfied customers. I for one am totally happy with the multiple tunes and ongoing great service. There would be other companies like this too.

All you need to do is look at the website to check out how they look after purchased base tunes and then the remote support specific to that tune. I can only recommend to the OP that he have a look at this and I can vouch for their professionalism.

You can download STOCK tunes for free from here: Tune File Depot but you will need Efilive or similair to run it . You can DL Efilive software for free here: http:Download Software

So now you can DL the tunes and look at them but dont get to excited just yet because here comes the killer you need the hardware so you transfer the tunes for your comp to your car dont expect much change from $1000 you can buy this here: FlashScan V2 with GM Tuning Option

All this info is for Efilive as I have not used VCM suite/Hptuners but im sure it is very similiar.

I agree, Although some of oztracks tunes are a bit hit and miss they are far from a cut/paste of a stock tune. And dont think just because you have a dyno tune that its is any better than a mailorder. It all comes down to the tuner I have seen some shocking dyno tunes where you would have been better off getting a cut/paste base tune.

ALL OF AND I MEAN ALL OF THE MAFLESS 300KW TUNES WHETHER ITS DONE BY ME OR SOME EXPENSIVE MILLION DOLLAR AN HOUR DOUCHE LORD WITH SOME SICK COMPANY ARE THE 300KW GTO/GTS MAFLESS TUNE IT WAS COPIED AND PASTED ON SOMEWHERE THEN ITS USED ON YOUR PCM WITH ANOTHER OS TO RUN DUAL MAPS FOR GOOD FUEL AND BAD FUEL AND IT IS TWEAKED A LITTLE FOR YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

like i just did all this research right, there i was with my elm327 ebay special, then i got an idea, hey if i can clear codes maybe i can flash tune, so i searched and searched and searched and thought hang on, everyone offers a 300kw mafless tune, if memory serves me correctly the hsv had a mafless 300kw car? so BOOM i found it the 300kw gts? thats funny, so i searched and i dug and i searched and i searched and i searched and i SEARCHED! then i started to download bin files, then ask people things and there, i had my answer!
dont believe me then research it yourself!
i tell you i was so disappointed to find out that some guy want 1k to do a mafless tune, a while ago i thought oh yeah for 1k its a full custom tune man but no its a copy slap paste tune that hsv made, not bad at all.
you need a xxx speed cable to flash and write to your pcm, $200 maximum, key finder free download, bin file free download, then all you need to do is find your tune, copy it, save it, flash and upload your new tune.
people have these free already made tunes all over the net, all you need is the cable, a laptop or a really long usb extension from your desktop to car!
(there is only a little more detail but seriously this is the gyst of it)
if you cbf doing all this there is a guy on ebay who will do yours or $80 and leave it unlocked for you

oh and for the link posted, efilive needs you to run their cables and interface which is stupid, if its a demo you should be able to use what you want, fyi the software is free with thweir 9 million dollar cables.
