You wont go to jail. But it is against the terms of your license.

You think that just by putting a cat back exhaust on it, you'll increase the power enough to put it over the legal requirements for P Platers?

That's gold...

In Victoria it's illegal to have performance enhancing mods.

Law in Vic states that any Performance enhancement is illegal.

A vehicle that:

-has an engine with eight cylinders or more, or
-has an engine that is turbocharged or supercharged (except those listed in the probationary vehicle database). There are also some lower powered turbocharged or supercharged vehicles which have been exempted and can be operated by a probationary driver who has been given an exemption by VicRoads. Refer to lower performance turbocharged or supercharged vehicles and the probationary vehicle database for more information
-has an engine that has been modified to increase the vehicle's performance (other than a modification made by the manufacturer in the course of the manufacture of the vehicle, or
-a nominated high performance six cylinder engine (refer to the probationary vehicle database).

It almost sounds good, 3 meals a day, no bills, tv, free sex... well the last one might not be a good thing haha.

There are SO many P platers out there that have mods done to their cars, some haven't done much, others have done way to much!
Insurance could possibly be an issue if you have an accident. But trouble with the cops, unless they've caught you hooning/drag racing or something you probably won't have an issue.
If the exhaust is stupidly loud though, you'll have an issue for sure!

Your best bet though is to get a catback or rear mufflers from an SS, it'll look better and you won't run into any issues with the police.
