Well ive never ever been pulled over and im 20 (been driving regularly since 18, and heaps on my L's as well)
Id like to think its partially the car i drive (see top corner), they assume that because i have a car that is new im not an idiot (and im not). Works well.
That said, i do like getting the other P platers next to me at the lights, especially the ones who are fully sick muzzas bro, they're always a good laugh :p

And as a poster said above, i liek the P Plates, they add a 'im sick' look to the car if its a nice one. I might hoon around with P plates on when im 30 and in my HSV or something (and bored lol), will be a bit of a laugh for a while im sure :p

are you serious? the reason for p plates are simple, to let other people know that you are still fairly new to driving & still learning. When people see p platers, they realise it & may give you that extra bit of room that you might need. Think about it.

Also, just because you can pass a computer test & go for a little drive with an instructor in a car, dosnt mean you know everything about driving, no one does, you get better with time.

as for the comment on the "Pull me over Plates" well, you sound like a typical p plater, you blames cops for targetting you? Blame the majority of wanka's with commodores & p plates, cops dont just target people, being a ****wit makes you a target, if you behave & dont be a tool , you have nothing to worry about if you do get pulled over do you?

Great post, i get pulled over probably twice a week if i drive the SS around, i get breath tested, i get asked a few questions, then i am on my way. The problem alot of young people have is lack of respect. they speak to the officers like they speak to their parents, officers take offence and start going over the car.

P platers just need to realise 3 things, keep your car in tip top shape(god knows i don't want to be on the road with unroadworthy pieces of ****) and to keep your mouth shut and say yes sir no sir three bags full sir, all problems are magically dissolved and the last, well, drive sensibly, don't let mates hang out the window yelling abuse at people etc etc.

Agreed, I get pulled over more often than most people would because being in hospitality I do a lot of shift work so am often driving home 3am in the morning so often get pulled over for RBT's and routine licence checks, simple as handing them my licence, telling them I've been at work all night and where I work and thanks very much off I go have a good morning, etc..

Had the same attitude on my 'P''s as well, if a police car pulled me over I'd have my window down and licence ready by the time the cop had reached my window.

Only drama I've ever had was the 'loose cannon' NSW cop driving back from Bathurst last year...

I been on my P's for about 8 months now, so I still have a while to go :( , I dont mind displaying them, the cars I get to drive consist of new beamers and mercs, my dads SS, and a few other really cool cars, so I kinda like letting everyone know I'm on P's and driving a better car than them lol...

The wife is only a learner driver and while she doesn't particularly like displaying L plates, she does like pulling up next to other learners in their bitchy little cars, while she's in the VE. Also at the dealership she works at, she checks in all the cars straight off trucks...wonder how people would feel knowing that a learner gets to burn around the back yard (unaccompanied) in their car before they get it...

People without P Plates have usually been driving for more than 3-4 years...People on the road need to know who to be cautious around etc, for example your most likely to be cut off by a p plater than a non p plater, or in situations full license drivers make deicisions that P platers wouldn't, people need to be aware of thinggs like these..

Hell , ive had my P's over 1 year...i think i can drive pretyt well but i admit in some situations i wouldnt know wtf to do, and people needa know that lol

Im constantly being cut off by people and none to date have been P-Platers. I've also had an old guy veer into oncoming traffic, panic and then overcorrect into my lane where i've had to slam on the anchors to stop him from hitting me and he just keeps driving on up the road drifting in and out of traffic....

Its the old ones you need to be careful of.
