We have a new Mobil servo in the town, and the last few days the prices have been amusing.
Yesterday arvo............Mobil E10 $1.84, BP ULP 91 $1.54.
This morning, when I panic bought .......... Mobil E10 $1.61, BP 95 $1.73.
This arvo ......... Mobil had had cars queing to fill up at $1.61 when I walked past, came back 20 minutes later and the driveway was empty as the price was $1.81.
Tomorrow, I reckon both servos will be above $2.00 for E10 and ULP 91.
So, I currently have 15 litres for the mowers, and about 220 litres in the cars.

Peter Khoury, a senior spokesperson for motorist group NRMA, said recent increases at the bowser showed that companies have been hiking prices well above what was justified by global market conditions.

“The prices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide today are already way too high,” Khoury said.

Average prices are “anywhere between 10 and 12 cents a litre higher than they should be”, he said. “The oil companies have already been put on notice.”

Data provided by the Australian Institute of Petroleum showed the margin between wholesale and retail prices has recently blown out to about 40 cents. Khoury said that was the widest since before the Covid pandemic.

Went to Costco his morning, including the jerry can put $80 in the ute, went back with the vh and put $60 in, that should last for quite some time as it's on club rego. The wife and i will go back shortly when the store opens and put another $60 in the ve. Their price for 98 was $1.66. I don't think I have bought that much petrol in one day in my life.

I topped my daily off yesterday, but drive in this morning they not moved much.

I think they are under close scrutiny to not put them up too fast, as it took some time for the duty drop to "flow through"

Well here's a shot of what we have price wise. Interesting that some are still the same as yesterday and others have gone up. Coles and WW like usual are coming out on top as most expensive.

The difference between Woolworths and Costco was 70 cpl for 98. I saved $36 on the petrol I bought today. I couldn't imagine that Woolworths pay more for their petrol than Costco.
