Yes I agree its their fault. But when 3 people die(different accidents) on a road next to your house where speed wasnt a factor and for the 2 weeks after each death there is a speed camera there it makes me sick.
There main target is speed
Despite the reasoning for why a camera is there or how long it's there, my point is if people don't speed, they won't have to pay a fine and the government get nothing. But as long as people keep speeding, it's these people that are funding the Government's "revenue raising".
What I find even more bizzare, it that it's only ever speed camera's labelled as revenue raising. What about the unmarked TOG cars that spend a day booking people for un-roadworthy vehicles, driving without a seat belt, using a mobile phone while driving, illegal u-turns, or going through a stop sign. They're never labelled as revenue raising. They're merely officers doing their job, handing out fines to those who break the law. And they way I see it is, a speed camera is no different. If you break the law and get caught, there are consequenses. No matter what catches you.
There is so many things that could be done and booking people for 5-10ks over isnt gunna do ****
Regardless of whether it helps or not, driving 5-10 kph over the speed limit is STILL breaking the law. And just like any other law, there are consequences for breaking them.
