it'l prime but if the oil pressure switch doesn't short the wires after starting the fuel pump relay wont click to keep it going. If im reading the wiring diagram correctly  Or it just runs as a backup circuit

Thats not right.

Fuel pump builds pressure before you even start the engine - its the whirring sound you hear when you turn the key to the 'run' position

this is very true.. there fore it should start if the oil press switch was not operating or there was a broken wire to it..

im just going to trailer it home and go buy a new oil pressure switch, crank angle sensore, waterpump(waterpump isnt spinning perfectly straight, id imagine thats why the belt came off in the first place) and some filters, oils etc for a service. might as well make a day of it

fuel pump will always prime, but the oil pressure switch is hooked to the fuel pump relay, if the motor loses pressure, it kills the pump, so motor konks out and you have less chance of paper weight'ing your motor.

The fuel pump is wired through the engine oil pressure sensor/switch so if the ECU fails, and cant command the fuel pump on, or goes into limp home mode as its called, the oil pressure switch will turn on the fuel pump once the oil pressure gets up to around its running pressure.

LOL If the oil pressure switch wiring was broken, wouldn't this also result in no oil pressure?

oil pump creates oil pressure, the switch just reads the pressure and opens or closes an electronic circuit depending on what pressure its reading.

Exactly right. The pump creates the oil pressure, the switch just reads the pressure.A broken pressure switch wont cause a loss of oil pressure.

yes and the switch is only a backup as above you can unplug the oil pressure switch and the car will run .if the wires happen to be earthed out due to broken sender unplug it it may run again but my bets on smashed CAS or bent fins on the balancer that chop through the cas to make spark happen
