Report a car sales yard

The sales yard I bought my car (VF SV6)
from last year sold me a car that had a recall that hasn't been fixed relating to power steering.

Should I report them and how would I go about doing that.

Pretty sure it’s not the car yard’s responsibility to chase up recalls on every car they sell.

Owners are supposed to register their ownership with the manufacturer on their website or call their local service centre when they take possession of the vehicle to see if there are any recalls outstanding.

Fair enough, that's not what Holden told me.

My niece bought a VF last year that hadn't had the recall done on the rack with her car....When she took the car for a service, the mechanic noticed the recall hadn't been done, so advised her of it....

It has since been done of course....

As for your predicament.....If Holden are alledging the car yard is at fault, chase with them how you go about it....Bet they back pedal when the time comes.... Let us know what the outcome is there

Fair enough, that's not what Holden told me.

Ok. I stand corrected. It is the dealers responsibility if it’s a mandatory safety recall. If it’s just a voluntary recall it’s not their responsibility apparently.

Was the car yard an ex-Holden dealership still operating as an authorised Holden service and parts supplier?
