I think so, however I'm not exactly sure if it will work.

I haven't done it on mine, as i have the older software.

I had a quick look into the files and there are some checksums and other hashtags. I am not sure if they are software checksums, or if they are VIN specific.

Here is what I would do;

1. Format a USB stick (at least 4gb) to FAT

2. Copy the files to the USB

3. Insert the usb into the console, turn ignition to ON, and go into the mylink config

4. There is a software menu, select update software.

See if it works?

Hopefully it will not proceed if its not compatible, and hopefully it wont brick the device.... or your car....

I haven't had a chance to get these files yet either. I doubt these would be open to anyone installing and I'm pretty sure there would be a check for your VIN # or similar. But if there isn't good luck and see how you go

But Holden dont seem to be able to check through your VIN what software updates you have.
Otherwise we wouldn't be emailing screen shots of our software to Holden.

I haven't had a chance to see exactly how they do the upgrade and whether or not they do a lookup on a centralised database or not.

There are many ways to limit the installation to 'protect' your vehicle from receiving the incorrect version of the software, but remember this is mylink only and not ECU. But you still wouldnt want to load an incorrect version and have to pay for holden to fix it

Using Brettv's (Thanks Brettv) files I've updated (03/14 VF CalaisV), I am now running the higher versions and a couple of things seem to have changed.

I now get a bluetooth on and off audible message. I also get a audible message when I turn off - "Dab+ FM linking set to on". What does that mean!!!! And how do I turn the audible message off?

I do NOT however have reversing lines.... Damn!! I assume there's nothing I need to switch on for that...

Thought I would go to the source and ask Holden direct via their website and got this back:

We thank you for taking the time to write to us with your enquiry, however we wish to advise that at this stage there is no software update available that can add guide lines to the rear view camera and Holden do not have an outlook on
this becoming available in the future.

Additionally, we wish to advise the reversing guide lines are a design decision made by Holden.

I went to my local dealer here in Perth, (Youngs Holden Victoria Park) armed with some feedback off this blog, only to be told that i would have to buy the software for @ $300. Can anyone in Perth assist, if they have been to another local dealer please? thanks Greg
