so they could defect you if you were towing a boat and the back was too low because of it?

If it makes your car lower than the legal limit and your driving it on the road then you can get defected.

They measure it as is. The reason they dont like it too low is for safety reasons. If you have too much weight in your car and it brings the ride height below a safe distance then your car is unroadworthy. Simple.

oakbank this year i was driving through the town like this
parked out the back and drove around till i found the misses
got waved down by a officer to ask where i was headed, simply said i was looking for her and he said take it easy

not one question on height, quite obvious signs i was on the bump stops

Inconsistancy seems to be the problem in SA, one officer say/does this the other doesnt
we need to look and overhaul the rules and get every patrol car supplied with a guide book

That sounds like a bunch of messed up rules if they can defect you for towing a trailer and it makes the ass end low.. Do the coppers or regency not have any brains or common sense

**** if i put 3 of my mates in my SS then its slammed as and if i lived in S.A i would be defected. Till all my mates got out and up it goes again

well all vy s2 and vz owners are screwed.

the vehicle must be unloaded before ride height can be measured.

the eyebrow heights are supposed to be achiveable at full load aswell.

We got pulled up 200m from the servo with a full tank & the boot full of xmas shopping (2x subs, TV, boombox etc) & the cop still measured it fully loaded, & would not let the Calais be emptied as it had to pass loaded...

i got defected for yellow brake fluid LOL thats how good sa is with defects

yeh everytime i been done for too low iv been told i can remove anything in car that doesnt have too be there normaly. And regency told me same and they only have issues with too low as it changes impact points for pedestrians

if it has to be done unladen then i would take the time to remove all my fuel, the spare tyre, jack, subs, amps etc etc. As if they are going to wait for that. Defect all the way.

within reason if u have stuff in the boot and **** i took my tool boxes out trolley jack lol made no difference tho

i got done for missing that poxy plastic cover over the front indicator on a vp, go figure it still works and is still orange
