Clearly not many people here have ever tried to make a "fast" Skyline, It empties your pockets very fast. Same goes for a Silvia.
They Can do it, and do it well. But to catch up to a standard VZ SS, you're looking at a few grand. I'd be confident in saying this about anything not fitted with an RB26dett as standard. Even then you're looking at $50k buying price.

Granted a few grand on an old GTR will make it catch up to a current ss. The Rb25det needs a few more, but still comparing when they were released to an ss of the same era they are pretty damn good. You couldn't get a VN V8 as quick as an R32 GTR with a few grand. With 3 grand you can make any 2L or bigger turbo engine pretty quick, just don't waste money on brand name stuff.

True, my theory is that it will cost 10-15k to buy an R33 GTS-t and probably another 3-5k to get it upto LS1 spec.
By the time you arse about with it all, you could have just bought a newer car and had it already done.

Agree with that, the one thing newer cars have going for them is better comfort, and the ease of power in the LS1. High revving turbos are fun, but a completely different type of car.

Above... ACT registered (personalised plates - "JUN") and street legal/driven.

a street registered car doesn't mean it's street legal. You could almost get Victor Bray's door slammer street registered if you knew the right people.
As said NOS makes it illegal, and there is no way it would pass emissions test with the size of the cams - did you hear the idle ?

but a very impressive car all the same.
