VX Acclaim Wagon
Hi guys
I have VX commodore Acclaim wagon.
When I drive around with aircon on. All good untill I turn it off. When I turn the aircon off and let the fans run. Then it starts blowing bad smell, then worse smell. then more.
It smells like lots of humidity in side. seems like something really wet and never dried up.
I tried to find cabin air filter behind dash board passenger side. But couldn't find. where is it?
or if this is some thing else what can be.?

They don't have a filter.
The intake is under the plastic cover where the windscreen wiper's bolt on.
It may be a slightly leaking heater core, Enough to soak the intake area.

I agree, possibly leaking heater core. Have you got a mechanic you can trust to have a look and see what he thinks?

Ahh nothing worse than the wet socks left in the washing machine smell!!!!!
Need something to spray in the A/C vents -Heater core, to kill the Bacteria caused by the cold moist air when the A/C is on.
Holden will do it at a price,Toyota also have a product that is very effective at killing the Bacteria causeing spores,Easy to do .
Just have your A/C turned on,have it on REC, spray the contents into the vents, and let it do its job.
Also helps to return that new smell back to the interior.
Believe it or not a can of GLEN 20 will also suffice, but try and swap over the nozzle with one with a tube type nozzle so it wont go all over the vents themselves, and you can direct it deep within where its needed

I cant believe that there is no filter. I always drive with closed windows. But still always here I see dust in my car, on dash, seats.

what is the size of filter if I want to install one.
