Have a good look around in the engine bay at the water pump, radiator & radiator hoses, heater hoses etc to see if you can spot any leaks.
Anywhere there has been a consistent coolant leak over time, you might be able to see a pinkish coloured stain with a white tinge to it.
If you can't see anything, then get the cooling system pressure tested.
Don't start throwing money away on parts until you identify the cause of the problem.

Thanks for the tips everyone...I'll let it idol with temp set to cold and see if I can see where it's leaking and get it bled properly incase that's the issue. Failing picking up anything on that I'll take it into our local radiator shop and get them to find it. Fingers crossed it's not major.
