The Ford BA XR6 was a better car than the ZB

The Gen 2 (VN to VS) was originally designed to have a I6 (the Nissan 3.0) before the Buick 3800 V6 went in. But yes the Barra is a huge lump of a donk, tall too with the OHC configuration.

^^^^, yeah, I should have been specific, I meant the VE.
We all know how the Nissan engine went in the Commodore. Mechanically, yep. Economically ( as in supply cost) nope.
That was back in the good old days when the General's knowledge in Detroit was "Australia ? Where ? North of Switzerland ? Holden ? What ? "
Peter Robinson still has an injunction hanging over him regarding his comments about it being fitted to the VL.

2019 ZB Commodore LT 2.0T Wagon
Just stumbled across this post and had to weigh in as someone who just came from a BF XR6 to a ZB LT. ZB is miles ahead in terms of comfort, smoothness, keeping the missus happy and feels way quicker off the line, however:
-Barra is soooo easy to work on
-Mods/parts galore
-Charm

Too bad it looks like diarrhea for the eyeballs.

It could be the fastest, most reliable, comfortable car in existence, it's still got looks only a mother could love and that wouldn't sell me on one even if they were $15k driveaway brand new.

It looks like a German corolla.

So, so much charm. If only the two Aussie design teams could form their own company. A VZ, VE and VF with a Barra would have been a beautiful thing.

The truth, I always wondered about getting an sv6, however test drove them and didn't like the power delivery for a 6.
Never got enough cash together to get a clubbie tourer which was the dream.

Do miss the mighty barra.

Says the guy who lists a Kia Sorento as one of his cars.

Actually the ZB looks like the Merc CLA Coupe.

I was watching a Steve Morris youtube video and me mentioned Barra as he walked around his shop. This could be interesting....

I'll take a Kia over an Opel any day of the week in terms of current styling and build quality.

Hell the AU is a better looking car than a ZB.
