I've been thinking about this for a while now and would love to see some one do it and the results. :D

I recently saw twin sc14 blowers on a v8 on what looked to be stock boost as he was turning em on and off, and it was pulling 11's on the 1/4 mile.

Hey guys, i don't own a commodore but since you guys seem to be the most knowledgable when it comes to SC14 blowers i was wondering if you could tell me how much power, roughly, does the supercharger drain up when its not in use? I'm planning to throw one on my NA 300ZX for shits and giggles but i won't bother if its going to suck up a large amount of power. Currently making 131.4rwkw.

Edit: Car also has an Lightweight Underdrive crank pulley, would this help offset loss by the s/c?

Probably not to much, the pulley turns pretty freely when it's off. The main thing would be the air restriction in the in/outlet pipes of the charger if they are still pretty small.

Dont know why you would care about the power of the motor when the charger is turned off anyway :D

btw 131rwkw from a na 300zx is pretty sweet. Take it that it's not a stocker?

as stated above, thye dont loose much without the blower on, I think we tested it and it was about 10kw lower than the n/a power, tho of course this was on a commodore and my have slightly different results on your car.

Thats good to know, it's really just i don't want to lose a crapload of power when i won't be using the blower all the time. As for the power its making it has a Catback, Pod, Underdrive crank pulley and Ecu has been chipped to remove speed limiter & raise the rev limit to 7500. Was planning to go for extractors, ported heads, tune and aim for 150rwkw but now i want to take that a bit further before i swap in a VG30DETT and be done with it.
