Tinted Taillights?

I'm not sure about the law in Australia. But here in New Zealand i'm pretty sure its illegal to have any sort of layer or coating over your headlights or tail lights.

it's very illegal - but so are carbon fibre bonnets (for a more convincing reason than tinted lights) - what irritates me is the leniency shown to ricers. Drives me up the fkn wall.

I think it has something to do with fragmenting if in an accident. Apparently it's so much better to be hit with steel than carbon.

Rofl, I just had a crazy vision of me stopping at the traffic lights and a ricer rear ending my car and then his bonnet explodes and thousands of carbon fibre spikes fly through my car and kill me.
