2005 VZ S V6 6 speed ute
I have a 2005 VZ S ute which came with 17” rims and I’ve fitted 19” it has been lowered prior to buying with Pedder springs. There isn’t much clearance between tyre and bottom of strut. I’m running 235/35/19 but until last weekend before I hit a large pothole it was fine now it’s rubbing against the tyre and can’t drive. My question is are my struts meant to be that close to tyre running 19”s or do I need to install different struts or? Help please guys

Plenty of people run those on the older girls though. I'd maybe try some of these. They're cheap as chips and probably won't ride any worse than what you've got , may even be an improvement.

If it cleared before you hit the pothole and judging by the side rub something got bent. Try chucking the lh on to the rh then you can see if it's the rim or the front end. The fronts on these beasts are very open to rims up to 20's with a wide range of offset

Just opened the photo, are you running factory VE SSV rims, just painted? If yes then they should have the same offset and width as VZ SS 18" Monaro rims as I have in my shed. Meaning I was probably wrong in my first reply.

I'd book it in for a front end check and alignment and see if something is amiss.

I didn’t want to say they were VE SSV drilled to fit as some peeps don’t like I’m booked in tomorrow. I thought the strut might me too long for the rims?

yeah I’m thinking that too. I just thought the clearance isn’t much between struts and top of tyre. Are the struts meant to be changed over to suit the 19”s

I've been told by the security guard at work who runs these on his VE SSV sedan, but just in 245 that they are not very forgiving as he has found. I mentioned getting set for my ute a while back and he confirmed the concerns I had.

If it's new and the wheels have been on it awhile it's bent. If the wheels have just gone on it may be the brand of strut and how the perch sits.
