Yeah in leaning to paint it. Got some primer and black gloss engine paint and should work fine

Linkage below
All the others I have found are about twice to three times more expensive

Holden ones expensive also

Thanks for the link, I'll look in to it. Let us know how you go with painting it as well.

Tyres.
From front left to right rear and return
From front right to rear left and return

Remove, strip, refit, balance all 4 for $88 and should last another year and a half im hoping. (currently 9 months old with a very hard life)

4 Point camber kit probably going to go in the next couple weeks.
The suspension specialist is away and is a half day job with prior booking anyway
Finally after all the hassles with dodgy mechanics and quotes, happy again.

Suspension guy has worked on my previous rides and currently in all of Sydney, only workshop I can trust yet they are a tyre store.

Anyway, so very tired.
Nite all

Bumper fun
Redjusted bumper AGAIN last night, for the last time hopefully
Prior owner abused it so eventually will be getting a new one down the track but its on and aligned almost perfectly, with some assistance.
Was never a great fit, and measuring it, passenger side height is different to drivers side etc and drivers side clip (even with a new quarter bracket) still isnt fantastic but acceptable.
The clip that is on the actual bumper on the drivers side is not firm and flexi whsilt passenger side is fine. Seems like possibly not aligned in the past so prior owner kept whacking it until it lost its stiffness.

Hence sagged a bit which made other side take the weight more.
BUT i have adjusted, manipulated and got it kinda ok now.

Mind you all in all, bumper with its issues and stone chips, is worth just replacing and getting it pre made up from like a place below
Carmate Holden Commodore VX VU Sedan Front Bar - bodykits aero kits spoiler bodykit and much more carbon body kit spoilers
Can colour match, is local to me and have it made up, painted and colour coded and fit myself
Should fit in the car lol

Image from another forum, but top arrow shows what clip i mean
Will see how it goes, but its pretty damn good for now.

Mesh
Just bought some plastic grill mesh off ebay
(can be able to install whilst on stands or ramps and removed also if changing bumpers)

For the air duct area.
Im sick of seeing my air con condensor and looks tatty when its been hit by rocks and such.
Whilst doesnt cover it up and not intending it to, it does take the focus away from the condensor
Also might look good in the process.

Been looking for a while for a decent NON SUPERCHREAP or REPCO style grill mesh which has restrictive mesh, this one is quite wide and thick and should be able to deflect rocks etc on the roads and catch the larger insects.

Comes with means to secure as well.

couple of bumper tricks for you - seriously GM worst design ever.

take care I have seen some genuine bumpers with cracks around the fog lamp area due to flexing the wrong way so don't go too crazy.

if you loosen the top bolts and pull the top part forward it will flex the bumper and tighten it at the ends.

cable ties can definitely be used to pull the bar in, on most there will be a small tab you can make a hole in and then use long (or two looped) cable ties to pull the bar in.

lastly some people adjust the fender out effectively stretching the front of the car wider.

My Clubsports bar needs a little adjustment that I plan on doing soon I probably will end up doing a combination of the above - hopefully don't have to go as far as the cable ties but......

Also many aftermarket bars are inferior, in that they will crack quite easily (most aftermarket "Fakesport" kits are fiberglass which is just rubbish).

Go genuine if you can, even a used respray bar will be better!

Done very similar.

For the flex
Bumper top screw holes, opened them up and using large washers underneath to raise a bit also.
Added some recycled tyre material (designed to sit between washer and dryer to stop vobration) and non acid silicon (metal and zinc protecting) onto bumper support to lift the bumper a bit up under the passenger headlight area and drivers side. Virtually perfect now

Side clip
Was thinking of drilling as per prior post to use cable ties, also another way is attach using ties/another bracket onto clip with a drilled hole and attach to battery tray or similar.

BUT it is now all aligned fine, under drivers side stick out in one section only about 1mm and hoping some time and sun blasting it and heat will reshape it how its supposed to be.

Did look into that fender stretch, but afraid of damaging spot welds that hold that quarter in place.

But its done up pretty nicely

Thanks for the feedback on thse aftermarket ones, was in two minds bout them anyway but was easier solution.
Be easier to pick up a used bumper from ebay/wreckers and panel shop to respray etc and i could fit it.

such a fail design, it's quite honestly one of the most disappointing parts of the entire car (my Monaro one is perfectly fitted but the Clubsport one needs a small amount of adjustment, it just irks me so badly - lol).

I even looked a Pete's VX bar to see something similar to my own bar in relation to fitment.

LOLOLOL

Glad im not the only one wanting to see it fit perfectly.
I have become irriated by it that i see other VT VX variants in same position as us, with bars not sitting quite right etc.

Read elsewhere that even from factory, during production that they never aligned perfectly. Sounds to be true that.
BUT unless someone was nitpicking it, going over it with a fine tooth comb, you wouldnt notice it at all.
Far too much bling to distract them.

Does your clubby have a mesh grill?
I reckon that these cars shouldve had a mesh of sorts as to see the condensor is poor in my eyes.

Ok mesh is on its way.

I might take off bumper one more time when i have the mesh, be far easier to install it and can do cable tie trick or similar with the bumper.

This lil bitch is gonna be perfect lol
