VB V8 Diff Gears

I currenly have 3.08 diff gears in my VB and want some 3.45s or 3.55s for it instead. Does anyone know what cars I could get the gears from so they will fit my diff? Im not massively fussed about getting an LSD just yet so im just after the gears

What sort of diff do you have atm, Salisbury or Borg warner, 6 cylinder or 10 bolt V8 diff?

It would be a 10bolt v8 diff at guess id day a salisbury. The axle code is gu4. Its a vb sl, originally a 253 4spd

Its probably a v8, 8bolt salisbury.If it is get rid of it and get a vl 6cyl b/w diff(3.45 ratio).I wouldnt trust a 8 bolt salisbury i,ve had one lock up doing 80ks down the freeway and one lock up at around 30ks pulling up to a set of lights,with out much warning.

Mate, all i can say is good luck finding 3.55 gears for a 10 bolt Salisbury....I hunted for ages to find a set for mine! Mabye get a pic of the backing plate so we can see if it is a V8 Salisbury?

im 100% sure its a v8 salisbury. the car was a 253 4 speed from the factory, has the numbers for it

Factory 253 commodores usually have 8 bolt diff, not the usual V8 10 bolt diff. Is the diff cover round or egg/oval shape?

Yeh, I thought 253's had the 8 bolt/6 cylinder diff. 10 bolts were 308 cars...
