For that 8589 distribitor you put up the picture of yes. I'd recommend the 6AL (or 6AL-2). The links I put up to Holly are in US dollars so you're probably looking at another $800 to a grand+ for the controller. The controller gives you more control (dynotuning, etc.) and the AL-2 can be programmed, from a laptop.

If you want an MSD distributor with a built-in ignition module you could pick their 85891 (NOTE the one number difference!). I'm fairly sure you'll be back to relying on manifold vacuum for advance on that model. That type of billet distributor option is a very popular choice for hot rodders who want to upgrade to eliminate points and condensors without having to rewire anything else.

The ad selling that 8589 might be because they ordered the wrong one and don't have a control module.

Thank you Mate, I ll stick with OEM ignition, I will replace the cap and rotor button.Tonight I started painting the door cards from red to correct HDT colour, also changed both indicators on front lights, looking good

Cool. I would check the distiributor for wear (that you can't rattle the shaft about sideways in a way that could chew out the new cap and rotor). Can always get it reconditioned if the bushes/bearings/shaft are a bit flogged.

Thanks champ ... Sorry for a stupid question but what is the difference between the pressure plate cover and clutch cover to flywheel? Just a bit confused. I only got a flywheel and clutch cover that came with the clutch disc.
