Thanks champ ... Sorry for a stupid question but what is the difference between the pressure plate cover and clutch cover to flywheel? Just a bit confused. I only got a flywheel and clutch cover that came with the clutch disc.
The book shows a diagram of the flywheel, clutch plate and clutch pressure plate. Sorry if I have confused you (and me) but I only went of what the book said. It is over 25 years since I had anything to do with a manual.

Make sure you get the clutch plate central. They say use a tool to centralise it but I didn't ever have one of those. I must have used a rod.

Wheels are done, powder coated and extra clear on top. I went for silver grey, it looks much lighter in the sun.. all for 4 wheels done for $340 bucks... Bargain

Today started putting the flywheel and new clutch back on the car. I've torqued flywheel new bolts to 80 nm, it said 75 to 88 nm, no issues. For the clutch plate , the measure was 41 to 47 nm, one of the bolts snapped in flywheel at 30 nm... I used the bolts they provided in the kit bit they are not high tensile ones like the flywheel. . Maybe just bad luck, rubbish quality.. I decided to buy new better quality bolts for clutch plate , I've dropped off the flywheel to local clutch place to take the broken one out... See the below ones from dellow's I ll order

Hi guys, need advise... I noticed that I have a brass spigot bush here, the spigot bearing in the kit is steel and has small bearings inside. The brass one doesn't move when I put the finger in but the new one moves as it's got bearings Inside. What do I have here? Confused

I heard they last many many years but why is different to the one I got in the kit? Also it doesn't spin on inside the new one does..

IIRC, sintered bronze bearings (=solid non rotating annulus of bronze) are soaked in oil before being installing where they then provide the appropriate bearing capacity to the shaft being supported. AIUI the main shaft doesn’t need much support and a sintered bronze bush is cheap and works well.

As to why you got a roller bearing of sorts, maybe the old part was superseded or maybe the roller bearing is cheaper or more readily available.

Either should work if the dimensions are the same.

I’d have to look at my factory VF workshop manual to see what was actually used back in the day (but it’s boxed away and a pita to get to, else I’d have dropped a pic of the relevant pages)..
