I painted all of my badges satin black ... SS and 6 litre V8 included.

Also give me a heads-up on the materials and procedure you used if you can.
You painted the whole grille?
What prep did you do?

yeah...painted the whole thing with satin black (not Matt black)

took it off, wet it down with common old Kitchen spray 'n Wipe
let soak then hosed off and left outside to dry
..blew it off with compressed air then a mist coat of the black (spray can style)
let dry and then 2 full wet coats..then let dry. Took a day in all and the result....

I removed all mine off the SSV...cept the one on the grille
it got painted :lock:

Job done!

Removed grille and removed "Lion" badge.

At this point I have only painted the chrome badge - thought I'd see how it looked before making a decision to paint the whole grille.

Cleaned all parts with Selleys Heavy Duty Cleaner.

Applied two coats of Wattyl Super Etch Black Etch Primer.

Applied 3 (light) coats of Dulux Satin Black paint.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, much appreciated.

has anyone seen the gold chevy badges they look way better than any home job (no offence) but i have a black ute and gold badges look nice

gold badges are ok....but Chev? :bang:
As I see it..........
the whole point of this thread is not to go down the path of chev
badges on a Holden
