Ensure the facia is not loose as mentioned quite a few times over the thread.

Alternatively, pull the fuse in the boot for the headunit above the battery. Leave for a while and refit it. Then start the car. Screen should come to life.

Or check the harness plug is not loose. Remove the trans tunnel trim panels on drivers side and it’s a big plug which is secured with a lever type thing.

Some how, the next day it fixed itself (thank goodness)... It might've been a glitch or something...

Could this be a battery saver Mode? Cause my 08 ss has done this a couple of times. And then without pulling the stereo or fuse after a good drive pops back to life. The only reason I think this is cause stereo still functions through steering wheel controls as well as cd?

No. It’s a glitch. Discharge the capacitors by pulling the fuse for ann extended period (I leave overnight) and it will reboot.

If series 1, make sure the facia is pressed into the headunit properly. They can come loose.

If you have a VE it is a good idea to buy a battery health device.

2013 ve commodore z series
I was driving home in my 2013 ve commodore z series and screen had gone black, no music, no a/c controls, have checked the fuses and they seem alright to me, can’t seem to pull off facia either. Is there anything else I can try I don’t want to try talking to Holden

Pull the entertainment fuse tonight. Put it back in the morning.
