The other day I went to test out an SS, and when I reved it past 2000 and let go, there was a strange noise like it was back firing from the engine. This just got me interested into what it could be.

Aftermarket exhausts will crackle and pop on decell, nothing abnormal if thats what it was.

The car was stock. So I don't think it was the exhaust.

If it was a Ser II they have a rev limiter at around 2-3000 rpm in park. This may have been what was going on.

It was a series 1. it sounded more like a fart than back fire, could it have been cams? only would happen around 2000 rpm, but when driving it normally it didnt make that noise. was just a weird noise, and thought id ask if anyone knew.
