I had the same problem. My dealer wanted $550 in parts and an hours labour. I went down the $7 dollar jcar switch route. A quick search will provide posts on how to do this. My mod took about 20 minutes and has worked rain, hail and shine.

Inwas on holiday and had no choice but to go to the dealer - a little over $550.

Water gets past the rubber & under the switch membrane, usually during washing the car.

What I did with mine was disassemble the switch, dry it all out with a hairdryer, clean the electrical contacts & reassemble with silicone.
Been perfect for over 2 years.
