my vz sv6 with 2.5 inch catback exhasut and 2 hole mod raace ve sidi sv6 today, myn was quicker to 50-60 then he caught and stayed about half a car in fornt as we climbed.
VZ SV6 weighs 1590 or sumthing and 190kw
Ve v6 non sidi weighs 1700 and only 5 more kw and same torque.

Of course there are other factors... But performance is a factor.

And I think we all know the VE is superior in comfort, handling etc. its just perfomance some people dont agree.

To be honest... WHY EVEN BUY AN SV6

Thats my opinion. 4 grand more and you have an SS for christs sake.

It's more like an additional $5000.

In any event the VE SV6 is popular because of the following:

- It's a good value for money package (and looks identical to the basic SS aside from the badges and interior)

- It is less expensive to run than the V8,( fuel, servicing etc)

- It attracts lower registration fees

- It attracts lower insurance costs

Over 5-7 years the total aditional costs add up to a lot of cash.

All you ALP voters out there with the V8s, just wait until Ms Gillard and her bunch of cronies hits you with her upcoming CARBON TAX.
Enjoy the new charges you voted for.
I love V8s and have owned a few but the Government is going to really screw you now for owning one. That is on top of how V8 owners are already being gouged by paying higher Government charges.

The VE C02 rating show the V8 to be 24% higher on Co2 emissions than the V6 fitted to the Sv6 so when the ALP's CARBON TAX is levied the V8 running costs will go even higher. Thanks Labor (and Greens) voters!
