Well a bit of an update. Turns out the monkey's at holden service didn't follow the Techline correctly (surprise surprise). The Techline states when upgrading the HVAC software the Thermistor and harness is to be replaced. Doing one without the other wont work. Also the Thermistor needs to be relocated further into the heater box or something like that, to ensure accurate readings.

They did the software update and relocated the "Original Thermistor" and did not replace it.... Part is on order, expected available date 28 March 2014 (if I'm lucky)

iced up evaporator restricts air flow and aircon ends up with low air flow and blows warm air.
aircon will start fine but after a 10-15 minutes evaporator ices up and symptoms begin. turn it off and once the ice has melted away aircon is fine again until it inevitably ices up again.
it is an easy fix dont necessarily have to change any parts just move the thermo sensor location as in this

to get to the area you have to remove the glove box

I realise this is an old thread, but any tips for how to get to the sensor with the piece of welded flat metal in the way?

Bend it just enough to do the job ,after removing the vent.

Adjust the sensor. Bend it back, refit vent.
Pure win.
