They are a 'one shot' bolt due to the thread locking compound.
The AP calipers on the Maloo had a single torque figure, no angular extra rotation or TTY.
Bolts were reused with Loctite.

Surely they can be reused if you reapply loctite ...

What there saying is "Torque To Yield" cannot be reused re torqued again.

Holden would rather you to use new bolts, Loctite is much cheaper.
The OEM bolts are quality fasteners.

Yeah.
But they have to come off to remove rotors :(
You dont remove calipers with the sliding caliper design either for a brake pad change
Doh! Forgot about them , probly due to my bad maintenance record on my previous car that never got a rotor replacement in over 10 years and got "machined" by the pads when they hit metal aka Screachers . I always removed the caliper to replace pads, never knew you could get them in without removing them:( . Only had a problem with calipers when I trusted a so called mechanic to put them in a new car and one came loose , I learned by his mistakes , Braking = Knock = tighten caliper  Which is similar to loose control arm , which I also learned from him:oops:
EDIT: We wont mention oil changes o_O

Yeah it’s robbery indeed.

I hate the fact many bolts are now supposedly TTY and are thus throw away. And the shitty workshop manual don’t list maximum bolt length so one can check if reuse is even possible....

Its just a cheap arse way to ensure bolts are tight without having to retorque them and/or a nice way for manufacturers to sell stuff that otherwise one wouldn’t have to buy.

Out of curiosity did you grab the old bolts when you picked up the callipers? If so can you check length old to new using veneer gauge? Should be telling...

Or is it that these bolts aren’t TTY and it’s only the thread lock that makes them ‘special’.... in which case some loctite may have solved the problem o_O

I measured used and new bolts. Identical lenght.

make sure you bed in the new pads nice and hard Ron, these brakes need to be used or they will start squealing and drive you nuts.
