I need to place the alternator bearings in my 2013 SSV VF1 LS2 (165,000 kms), it's a Mitsubishi 140A , numbers 92254 672, A002TX3781, I would appreciate it someone can advise the bearing numbers so I have them prior to pulling the alternator apart. Thanks.

Heck google quickly found the below mob and they seem to have parts for lots of alternators (though no bearing kits come up for your alternator)…

Give the, a call and have a chat and if they can‘t provide something try a bearing supplier…

And the above website also has some interesting how to videos direct linked below

Thanks, the video makes it look easy! Looks like I need to pull the bearings out to get the numbers and go to the bearing shop!

I've put new bearings in, much quieter! Only difficult bit was getting the over run pulley off, need impact which I did not have.

For the next person!
Small sealed bearing is a 8mmx23mmx14mm ABC bearings number B8-85T12DDNC
Large sealed bearing is a 17mmx47mmx14mm ABC bearings number 63032RSC3

Are the OEM bearings fully shielded?

No idea, look like standard bearing to me, picture attached.
Small bearing says NMB Thailand, nothing else.

@Fergie, just an FYI, fully shielded bearing have covers on both sides so the roller balls can’t be seen and grease is held in place by the shield. Bearings can be sealed on both sides, one side or have no shield at all. Shields can be metal or various types of plastic and they can be removable (or not)…

The pic below show one side of three different bearings but as we can’t see the other side, we can’t say of those 2 shelled bearings are fully shielded (on both sides).

PS: probably should used the term “sealed” as that what the shield does, it seals the bearing to keeps dirt out and the grease within the bearing…

I was wondering what shield (in this case) meant? Wondered if they meant sealed? I've heard sealed for 50 odd years, wondered why all of sudden (just noticed) they call it a shielded bearing? ;)
