Mine was coils even though they test ok with multi-meter,only did it hot & with lead off white spark vs blue with others.

Only giveaway was a minor arcing mark on one terminal & non genuine brand.

New delphi coils were $80-$90.The zorst brand $60 if don't mind waiting for them in mail.

its looking like that's a real possibility...

if i've got good fuel pressure and flow. good compression, i think i might try one from the wreckers,

here is an example of how ive used a fuel pressure tester.

Complaint: AU2 Falcon not running on petrol...
Cause: blocked injectors
Correction, checked fuel pressure and flow-ok, checked for injector pulses-ok,checked for fault codes-ok, suspect blocked injectors, Carried out a fuel injection service, test drive-ok

and that was a common thing. I reckon ive donw thousands of injection services on AU falcons.... nearly each week we had one or 2 lemons

but at home, completely different kettle of fish...... I dont have the $500 wynns injection service kit, oscilloscope or even basic diagnostic tools.

so rather than waist more money on things it might or might not be... im investing in some decent tools that should last a life time (if i can keep them away from the kids)

ive also ordered a new IAC, and gaskets for the throttle body and adaptor..... there is already some staining around the adapter, I suspect someone removed the belmoth and reused the old gasket??? IDK.... so im gonna fix that and give it all a massive clean

(i dont think its a issue... it just looks like crap and if im gonna take it of to clean may as well chuck a new IAC and gaskets in while its off

Large steel tool cabinet with padlock.
Hopefully that will keep the kids or anybody else with sticky hands out!

Same, I haven't touched one in years... most cars these days have builtin oscilloscopes and can do things like relative compression tests, load on fuel pumps, ect ect.... so u only really need tools like this on old cars.

im surprised you have never used a fuel pressure gauge???? are u working in the industry because that might explain why???
im not trying to be rude or anything, but if ur NOT working as a mechanic ur generally not going to use the tools??

but if your not in the industry u wouldn't know. for warranty claims u need to actually prove how you diagnosed it, u cant just say we replaced ya fuel pump because some guy on a forum told me, there needs to be proof, and thats how i learnt.... diagnose right and "fix it first time"

and test light... is that a normal one or one that can pulse for testing circuits? most people dont even know there is a difference? but those cheap ones are not fast enough for testing things like CAS pulses

I only use my test light to see if there is power. I'm no mech so yeah don't have the need for some test equipment. Don't get me wrong if it came a time where I needed one I bought buy one. I have nearly everything I need now but buy the occasional tool if I need something specialised. When I posted before I didn't realise you are or were in the industry. Makes sense a mech would need a lot more gear than most, as a mech I would think you would need just about everything unless the boss supplied it for employee use.

Let us know where you buy the TB gaskets from. I'm having a hard time getting them without buying a manifold kit.

Ex-mechanic here too haha

Still only use most basic of tools after long break away from cars.

Half the problems found with injected holdens is if parts not factory brand but cheap knock it will usually be the problem or dodgy work by previous owner.

Other than that most issues will be common fault...split pin or wire for fault codes & multimeter are main tools used.

dodgy work by previous owner.

Yepp..... ;);););););) I'm seeing more and more of the shty patch up's done by a previous owner on the ute. I'm hoping to soon have fixed all the half-arsed work that for no reason but a previous owner being a complete tight-arse; that obviously didn't want to spend 200 or 300 on SH parts and actually do the job right. I mean super gluing a speed sensor plug back together, because it was damaged is a classic case, of pure tightness......:mad::mad::mad::mad:
