I connected a 9volt battery to the red and blue of the motor, and it moves one way. I think I have to check the battery to see if it's flat now, as it wasn't new.

Hi, I've retried the motor with a fresh 9volt battery, and yes it's strongly moving in each direction.

I'm going to check for dry solder joints shortly.

Solder joints all re-soldered.
Now to look at drilling holes in housing.
