I WAS RIGHT!
to test my theory I drove the car until it was at operating temp and disconnected the IAC (whilst car was running) which meant the IAC was now stuck in idle position (800-900rpm roughly) (yes that’s still a little high) and the rev hang is now GONE! Drives exactly how it should!! For now I will leave it disconnected although it’s probably going to run like **** when it’s cold. To fix this properly I will either tune it out by buying a ALDL and tunerpro or run the IAC on a master switch in the cabin.

So yeah, has nothing to do with the flywheel or being a mechanical issue. ITS THE WAY ITS BEEN TUNED!

That's a ton of carbon buildup.. wonder what the pistons and plugs look like? also there is 2 different iac's too.
i know this as i've had both and the shape of the hole in the vx/vy is supposed to be different to the vs/vt..

The IAC moves all the time depending on engine load/performance. Holden would have done it for some obscure reason, there are also differences between manual and auto tunes. Most people who sell manual tunes for conversions only turn off all the auto trans functions/fault codes.

What does the tps do on a manual tune?
I was wondering about this last night?

update - Issue has been fixed!

Cause-
Holden's VX V6 Manual factory tune has a throttle follower. This adds IAC steps when coming off the throttle. (Rev hang).

Fix- Edit the factory manual tune (more info below). There is probably a guide on here as well but here's some links to what I followed.

Tools-
https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=905 (BIN finder) Use this to locate the FACTORY MANUAL tune. (all the tables are different to AUTO even after ticking the manual flags)
https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82&f=3 (OSE FLASH TOOL) Use to upload tune to ECU via OBD to bench harness/ecu setup.
https://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm (TunerPro RT) Tuning Software
https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2518 (The1's Enhanced Bin and XDF files)
https://www.envyouscustoms.com/diagnostics/diagnostic-kits/aldl-cable/ (ALDL cable)

Guides-
RK Garage provides a great guide that covers pretty much everything. Top bloke with great knowledge. Also has found a way to create lumpy idle tune.

https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3159

Important note-
-The guides do not explain that you cannot simply just use the enhanced bin file and tick the flags. From what I've learnt this only prevents the check engine light from coming on. The Spark tables are very different to the auto tune.
-You will need to find the factory bin file and edit it on TunerPro with the enhanced XDF file.
-Disable VATS, save bin as new file, Write BIN to ECU the first time. It may give you a few warnings.. make sure computer has plenty of battery life and make sure your connections are good and answer YES to all of them.
-USE A BENCH HARNESS. Writing BINs in the vehicle has a very poor success rate. Bench harness eliminates 99% of the errors you may run into.
-HAVE A BACKUP! You will more than likely brick an ECU at some stage.

I've probably left some stuff out, currently posting this from work lol.
Yes, it's a lot of work. But I have been looking at setting up tuning for a while. Nice to be able to play around with lots of different options and settings.

Glad you got it sorted. Been seeing this problem from other users for years.

I have a 6 speed auto from a ve in my vt ecotec. I contacted @The1, & he sorted me out. Used a manual tune, which he touched up for what l needed.
