Ok guys i can answer my own question.... The vx needle head is slightly wider... If you put vt or older in it will never seal hence the broken ones i have ha ha ha.....
I have a brand new air idle in now.... But the rev issue is still happening albeit no where near as bad

It idles at 600 (i have tried resetting the tps and the air idle.... Tps just Makes car rev to 2k! Had to reset ecu to stop crazy idle! )
Once car gets sort of warm the 600 rev idle starts to fluctuate to 750 then back to 600 every second..... Driving me mad... Any ideas?
The egr is still removed
Its had no ecu flash
Its now manual not auto
Runs really well.... Slight lump i cannot figure out tho.. Perhaps related.
New plugs, leads, coils, (swapped with known good car)
New idle
Different tps.

Arrrghhh?
Ideas pretty please guys.
I will post solution when gound for others future info :)

check vacuum hoses, one under throttle body,3 back of plenum.
could also be egr, when my gasket leaked it was idling weirdly.
check for fault codes.

Hi
Doesn't a manual pcm tune idle lower than a auto tune?

There are differences between the auto and manual tunes.

Do you have a CEL (check engine light) wired up/working?

Running a manual with auto tune will throw a whole lot of error codes as the PCM receives a number signal from the auto trans. Also, did you hook up a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) signal to the PCM? Without this signal the PCM won't know when to go into idle mode which can cause symptoms like you describe.

No speed sensor yet... Still has auto tune... Surely it defaults to im at idle setting? No?
A thought also... I have an after market oil pressure guage and sender fitted... Does the ecu require its own oil sensor to still be connected?
I will look into getting the manual cal set asap... Hmmn a speed sensor to a hilux box this is going to be interesting...
Will keep you guys posted

It can be made to work with no VSS but requires a bit of creative thinking but the whole system works better if it has a VSS. It's definitely been done before though.

Someone on the PCMhack forum would know what settings to use.
