Sold my car :(
My wh statesman v8 was also slow. It had 300K kms on it. I really had to press the gas pedal hard to go fast. So I decided to put "ac delco fuel injector cleaner" in it. So I waited for my tank to get empty, then went to the gas station and (1) first put two bottles of injector cleaner and (2)second filled it up with gas. This way it mixed up better. I then revved it hard and a huge cloud of white smoke came out of my exhaust for ten minutes. It was all the carbon deposit comming out. After that the car felt much quicker and more responsive. Now the car had so much power that if i pressed the accelerator it did a burnout. I ended up burning my rear tires out and had to buy new ones. You should try it too. Warning: Catylic converter can get clogged due to the carbon burning out, safer to remove it and then do it. Also better if you change the fuel filter first and then do it, to make sure trash in the fuel filter does not go to the injectors.

when I had a V6 I noticed a big improvement in acceleration when I changed the oxygen sensors.

I would have to advise quite strongly against doing this.

The correct procedure for using injector cleaner is to fill up first with a full tank of petrol (dont worry there will be enough room, the petrol pump cuts off a bit early) and then dump the bottle of injector cleaner in.

Excessive use (whether over 1 or many uses) can wear out the injectors prematurely. Ive seen it done before.

The Car drops gears fine, so I dunno about the sensor. So with the O2 sensors even though it's not coming up as a fault code, would it be a good idea to replace them or is it unnecessary cost?
Will give Injector cleaner a shot, I've got a full tank now. Fuel and Oil Filter were another "Apparent" change just before it crossed into my hands. Had a service at 150k so I wonder if it was done then. Car had a busted Heater Tap, Thermostat and 2 warped front rotors when I got it with a RWC so I find it hard to believe the owner replaced and had stuff serviced when he said he did.

O2 sensors don't last forever, they become less efficient over time and should be changed every 80,000-100,000 kms. Even if they don't throw a code it doesn't mean that they a working as good as they should. If they have never been changed it would probably be beneficial to do so. I wasn't getting any O2 error codes but my car ran a lot better when I changed them.

Used Injector cleaner, made a small difference. Then cleaned the throttle body, which was putrid as all hell. Another small difference, car is now getting to a higher RPM before changing gears. But it's still weak. ><.
If I work the public Holidays next week I'll buy some new O2 sensors, otherwise I'll have to hold off. Any other suggestions as to what could help?

Could be a dieing ECU? After you put the cat-back on did you get it retuned?

Exhaust Shop did the Catback, due to the welds so I don't know if they did. Seems doubtful.

The exhaust shouldn't have to much of an affect on the cars response, have you done a compression test at all? If its down on compression it will definitely feel like a slug!
