VX Indicators don’t flash when unlocking/Locking?

Hi everyone. I have a VX CALAIS INTERNATIONAL and it recently got broken into. The blokes broke some of the ignition barrel, fuses, relays etc. I replaced all the fuses and relays but the ignition barrel was still fine to use. I have noticed now that the indicators don’t flash at all when unlocking and locking the car. They also took the whole silver ring that the key sits on while it’s in the ignition. But the car still started up. Apparently it shouldn’t have. The boot also doesn’t release from the key or from the button on the inside of the car. You have to pull that boot release cable for it to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like they're coming back for it.

Could be BCM related with security. Check for any codes?Try resetting by disconnecting the battery for a min.

Yeah I’ve checked the BCM and all. Issue is that the battery has been dead for ages when they broke in. I’ve also tried resetting everything by reconnecting and disconnecting the battery but same results. Any other possibilities? Thanks

then wait one minute
car will crank and start without key reader around ignition barrel

So the car will start whenever I don’t have to wait at all. It’s just unlocking and locking don’t flash indicators. But they do work in the car. The boot release also doesn’t work. Even with the button In the glovebox. And it did start without the key reader around the barrel it drive fine too.

i would find a way to disable your car so it cant be stolen
it looks like it may be a work in progress by the thieves
if you wait one minute immobilizer should rearm and then not crank without key reader or pressing unlock
does red mode light flash when locked or after one minute

Yeah I’ve moved It to my house directly so it can’t be touched. The immobiliser hasn’t rearmed I’m pretty sure. I can leave it unlocked for 5 mins and it’ll turn over. I’ve driven it 40 minutes without the key reader and it still ran fine. But yeah the indicators work. Unlocking and locking work but indicators won’t flash while your doing that.

the boot release is all controlled by the bcm
connect a multimeter or test light to wiring at boot solenoid
then press boot release and see if you get voltage
as mentioned ,have you tried disconnecting battery for one minute
it looks like bcm has gotten scrambled
