Take all the bits and pieces off first including the battery then undo the head bolts.
I guess it’s a V6? Do both heads.
Put it all back together and bingo.

What about the cams and the timing chain I’m worried about touching them

And are the head bolts reusable?

If you’re concerned about the timing gear and unsure of how to replace the headgasket/s I’ll be the first one to suggest to get it to a workshop.

What about the timing chain and cams do I have to mess with any of that?
Yes and I’d suggest replacing the oil pump and chains while you are in there.

Is the head gasket diagnosis based on a compression test or finding coolant?

We all started somewhere.
Do you have plenty of tools for this that you wish to do?
