Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
Today I finally got around to upgrading the front end handling via the K-Mac Adjustable Strut Tops I had on the workbench + the front KYB short stop strut inserts.
Did the rear KYB's a few months ago & what a difference it makes over the ultima's I put in last year. In short ultima's are junk, rears squeaked like mad & when I hand compressed them after taking them out, they juttered & groaned like 20+ old shocks!.
Fronts were the complete opposite, no give at all - stiff as - ultima's are just complete shite, so glad I've put the KYB's in. The K-Mac Adjustable Strut Tops are fantastic, really free up the ability to adjust to what ever your doing at the time.
Took 2 hours to do the complete job start to finish so anyone out there viewing this & considering an upgrade to their front end, SL Kings short KYBs & K-Mac Adjustable bearing tops do the job very nicely
Wheel alignment is mandatory after this type of work, don't just go to Jax, Bob Jane or Baurepairs etc - they have young punks that don't really care & rely on computers alone.
I went to an old school independent specialist who is still an active rally car driver, so in 30 mins he had the wheels balanced, proper 4 wheel alignment completed to suit what I do mostly (freeway) so 90 all up well spent.
Drives so much better now, very happy with the result & the beauty of it is that I can change the caster etc, to whatever I want whilst it's still on the ground - K-Mac is the goods my friends![]()
