My uneducated opinion GM as we knew it is dead. Just seems a revolving door of CEOS and no one knowing what they are doing at the top.

Anyone else read the article from the boss of GMSV wanting Holden owners to embrace the new Silverado and Corvette, and 'go on a journey with them'.

EDIT....
GM Australia wants Holden fans to 'come on the journey', as Chevy sales spike | CarExpert

General motors are too big a name for the US Government to ever let them go under. It would be political suicide. As I said previously capitalism when things are good, socialism when things are bad. That's what the tax payers are there for.

They are in the business of taking money, not building great cars.

General Mismanagement.
GM are the corporate analog of most Americans who believe they are the centre of the universe and the rest of the world doesn’t exist.

For the last 40 odd years the entire car market has been about consolidating and building “world cars” to get the economies of scale to compete. GM completely turned their back on that concept and kept running regional markets except when they were foisting Daewoo shite onto Holden.

Holden designed and made a world sedan in the VE Commodore and GM just let it die after the GFC. GM should have been championing their best divisions to make world cars not just cars for their own market.

It should have gone like this.

Holden = World large sedan, wagon and Ute with the Commodore.

Opel = World small hatchback with the Astra.

Thailand = World SUVs with Colorado/Acadia

Murica = World muscle cars/supercars with Camaro and Corvette and to a lesser extent large pickups like Silverado etc.

Instead GM packed up their bat and ball and walked of the field as they don’t even understand how the game is played. Meanwhile companies like Toyota and VW are killing it using the world car concept and increasing volumes by having multiple brands selling effectively the same cars (VW with Skoda and Toyota with Lexus etc).

I think that GM did go bankrupt during the GFC, but with the intervention of the US Govt, smoke, mirrors and staff change, it pheonixed in to the GM, (or gm) that we all love to hate.

Isn't GMSV what was HSV but with some GM backing so they can flog some oversize/overpriced truck and 2 seat $145k sports car =something every Family just absolutely needs and can afford.
Shorly the camaro would make a little more sense especially as going to be a shape that in that farce that's has become supercars.

Maybe the GMSV/HSV RHD converted Camaro was not the success it was supposed to be at the price it was, compared to the price of a factory RHD Mustang, and the Aus bad taste of GM /gm.

And to add to the confusion of extended Holden servicing being pulled by ACDelco a few weeks ago, GMSV latest clickbait.........

Your Holden Commodore could be on the road even longer! GMSV set to honour Holden service and spare parts beyond required 10-year mark - Car News | CarsGuide

Round and round the Mulberry Bush.
