Geez you guys have it easy. In NZ vehicles have to be inspected once a year or 6 monthly if older than 2002 except new vehicles that are serviced at dealerships.

That's ****. Good thing NSW is not like that. There would be even more road fatalities.
You’d think so ... but mechanical failure is the cause of only one or two percent of crashes in states which have no roadworthy checks & it’s the same percentage in states that have roadworthy checks, so these yearly inspections turn out to have zero effect.

You'd think so. Since the testing regime was relaxed here in NZ I see a lot more cars with faulty head/tail lights etc. If people can't maintain even the most basic parts of the car do you think they would notice more serious issues?

Ah QLD, yes you can’t get decent sidewall profile unless you go down to 18”.
In NSW on an SSV Redline you can run 265/45R19 rear and 245/50R19 front, good profile for comfort and performance with the forged 19s.

There's not a snowflakes chance in hell you will fit a tyre that tall on a commodore

Really? Why is that?
There are plenty 27.5” and 28” drag packs around 300 width... but assuming SS FE2 ride height, stock offsets, track and tyre width (or less) why do you think an extra 0.5cm radius is going to rub, and where?

245/50r19 is an SUV tyre ie: Toyota kluger, it won't fit because it's just physically too large to clear the strut

But it is not necessarily an SUV tyre, maybe a SSW (Super Sportwagon) but yeah you can get summer stickies or all season.
I can’t see how a tyre with same width and offset becomes an issue at all, I though you meant height wouldn’t fit.

This country is all over the place, as far as inspections are concerned.....Some states don't have compulsary inspections.....Some have inspections upon change of owner ship and some have inspections at a regular basis and some don't have any at all unless the police pull them over and order it....

So it shows how mixed up this country is, in this area

Yeah but wofs are lazy as compared to the inspections here. A wof is a straight up safety check over here they will nail you to the wall for a non mod permitted set of extractors , bugger all cracks in bushes, not a single oil leak.

I went back last year for Nana's 90th thinking id buy a car with a wof cant be too bad everyone I looked at Leaks everywhere crap tyres couldn't believe they'd been warranted. Unless heaps of cuzzy Bros have dodge warrant hook ups or something....
