Spray some WB40 on the new one,
Place it in the hole, place some washers on the stud,
Then use the wheel nut to pull it in.
On some cars there isn’t enough space behind the stud to pull it out so you need to remove the axle (or replace the whole stub axle assembly). I think that’s what they are on about.The question is “how do you remove it”.

Then you have heard to replace the hub. So if you don’t want to replace the stud, just replace the hub if that’s what you want to do.

Best to book it in then. If you are handy on the tools you could pull the shaft and knuckle as one unit and replace the lot with a SH one and keep the other as spares. I'd have to check but IIRC the backing plate will interfere all the way around. You can get away with drilling a hole in the backing plate to access the stud.Yeah I've got that part.
