Hi, I just wanted to get some information on the easiest way to replace a wheel stud on a Ve. Any tips or tricks will be appreciated!

Knock the old one out,

Spray some WB40 on the new one,
Place it in the hole, place some washers on the stud,
Then use the wheel nut to pull it in.

Yeah I've got that part. But some people have said it will just be easier to replace the hub because you need to remove extra parts. Don't want to dig myself a hole with my daily is all

The question is “how do you remove it”.
It’s answered for you.
Reinstall has been explained.

Then you have heard to replace the hub. So if you don’t want to replace the stud, just replace the hub if that’s what you want to do.

I don’t get the point of the thread?

On some cars there isn’t enough space behind the stud to pull it out so you need to remove the axle (or replace the whole stub axle assembly). I think that’s what they are on about.

I haven’t ever done one on a VE so don’t know for sure if there is sufficient clearance behind to pull the stud out.

Then knock the sud through a bit. Remove hub. Replace stud as outlined and put hub back on.

The fronts look straight forward.
Knock it through, then when loose slide out on a slight angle and out it comes.

Best to book it in then. If you are handy on the tools you could pull the shaft and knuckle as one unit and replace the lot with a SH one and keep the other as spares. I'd have to check but IIRC the backing plate will interfere all the way around. You can get away with drilling a hole in the backing plate to access the stud.
