I've done a VZ Ute. The rotor shield needed to be flexed a tad but it was pretty easy to smack out and pull in

The question begs, front or rear stud?

People have replied how to replace a front and they are correct with their explanation....

So will be nice for the OP to elaborate which is to be done so members can advise accordingly.... :)

I reckon you might struggle to get it back in shape. Not sure about VZ but the VE one wraps under the rotor. I reckon it would be hard to straighten it back out properly? Just my thoughts and I could be wrong.

Well I wonder if the OP will ever let us know how he got on?

Speaking about VE Wheel Studs,

I have a couple of old front Hubs from my VE,
As I replaced them at 150,000 k/m,
Because I could at the time,
But the old ones have been left out in the rain,
So would it be worth pressing the old studs out ?
Save them for a rainy day so to speak ?

They don’t take up any room to have spare. Dont do it, and Murphy’s law says you’ll need them.

Best to book it in then. If you are handy on the tools you could pull the shaft and knuckle as one unit and replace the lot with a SH one and keep the other as spares. I'd have to check but IIRC the backing plate will interfere all the way around. You can get away with drilling a hole in the backing plate to access the stud.
Thanks mate. I'll have to give it a go this weekend. Hopefully just a hole and away I go

Not really, as all new hubs come with studs, so it's not like you can't buy q stud.

@krusing keep the hub as a whole. I'm looking myself for the cheapest front hub I can find, be it new or SH. I want to make a tool up to paint wheels and I reckon a front hub will be a perfect way to start.
