Filip's VYII L67 Calais

Hey guys, after owning a vz sv6 (which i still own and is a great car!) i was after something more reliable and cheaper to fix if something went bang. Most of my childhood was spent in my mums reliable L67 vt S that i helped dad service and work on and once i got my Ls in 2010 i started working on it on my own, replaced suspension, full service, 10 psi pulley etc but before i got my Ps it was written off at the start of 2012. My dads car called the quits recently and is now scrap metal so he's been driving my VZ to work etc while ive been recovering from a car accident i was a passenger in, in january 2014 I thought i may aswell buy another car to keep my self occupied until i get back into work and uni and while searching i found this.

He wanted $8500 with 12 months rego and i jokingly low balled a $6500 offer and he said yes... it needed quiet a bit for RWC but the seller got all of it done at his local mechanic brakes, rocker cover gaskets, handbrake adjust and a few other things. The drive train was pretty good, had full service history. All that was left for rwc was the drivers seat reupholstered for rwc which the seller was organizing but he took to long, so i picked it up without rwc and the seat needed fixed instead and he took $200 off the price, luckily my dads knows a seat trimmer so im getting that fixed asap.

The silver one is my vz by the way haha

Also if anyone is looking to get the guards rolled in Melbourne's west or need springs/shocks supplied and/or just fitted message me on mine and my mates fb page https://www.facebook.com/streetsteezauto I doubt many JC members will need suspension being fitted though haha!

Cleaned throttle body and MAF today always do it straight away with all my cars!

Cars dropped off at seat trimmer to get drivers seat reupholstered, anyone know how much a full velour vy2 calais interior be worth seats and door cards, probably sell the whole lot for $200 to some one in a vt or vx looking for a cheap upgrade to full electric seats

Soo i dropped it off for roady today, found out it needs engine mounts :/ the parts are $50 for the pair brand new but labour kills ya so it's costing me $250, needs new bonnet struts which I've already ordered days ago, the diff leaks but I knew that when I bought it so the mechs just steam cleaning it for me.
I'm either going 3.46 lsd which costs around 4-600 for 2nd hand or a low km 3.07 lsd which go go 2-300, do a bit of freeway driving cause of uni so a bit undecided, attempting to fit it myself wooo

I sold my velour seats without door cards for $450 in immaculate condition.

With L67, definitely get a 3.4" pulley upgrade with modular hub. (remember though without a full dyno tune 3.4" is smallest you can go without the ecu pulling timing)
Also look at some extractors to compliment the exhaust.
You should also bypass the boost solenoid.
Look into the MACE CAI for VY L67, great upgrade from stock intake and youll hear alot more blower whine with the 3.4" pulley.
For the shift kit get Transgo stage 2.
