Alright. So I checked out the fusible links like suggested and I they have blue crap all over them and look cloudy (battery terminal is the same). So I reckon they must be blown then.

So in terms of replacement, are they a Holden specific part or a part I can source from a main auto parts store e.g. SCA

Get one from a wrecker as you need the whole unit and GM charge way to much.
Each individual part is not replaceable although it can be done theoretically it's not worth the effort,

the blue crap if furry is corrosion, and a good indicator your battery is fubar
if looks like paint is anti corrosion spray

If it looks similar to this then you are going to need to clean it up.
Good home method is some bicarbonate of soda "cooking aisle at supermarket" in a jar with some warm water and paint onto the crap and watch it bubble and melt away then clean up with a wire brush.
Finish off with some dielectric grease or even vaseline will work and you can get bicarbonate of soda, a wire brush, small paint brush and vaseline all at Coles or Woolworths.

@Anthony . , if the battery terminals and fusible links are covered in green /white fluff, that's from acid corrosion so it needs to be cleaned off. You may find that with clean battery posts and clean battery lead terminals as well as cleaned fusible links, it may all work (that is the fusible links didn't blow).

Just make sure all acid is neutralised well. To do such, it's best to take the battery out of the car as that gives you access to inspect around and under the battery area as well as the battery itself. Just make sure that no bicarb solution can get inside the battery (not so much of an issue with sealed batteries though still I'd be careful around vent holes).

The following explains a little of what, why and how

And since i like videos, here's another less OCD method in an older car shown in teh video below

Update:
We load tested the battery and it checked out fine. Tried another battery and no change. Fusible link is fine, and it turns out that the blue stuff on the terminals must be for anti corrosive purposes as someone pointed out. I got a good view of everything as I moved the lhs carpet to gain a better view.

I would also like to add that I cannot see the check engine light pop up on the dash when I put the key in accessories mode. Everything else shows up though
