At what kilometer intervals will the timing chain need replacing? I have a 2009 3.6 litre SIDI engine in my SV6 ute that has travelled 186,000kms. I bought the ute at 147,000kms so I am assuming it may have been done at 100,000kms.

Yeah it is pulling to the left. The exhaust is literally rubbing against the tailshaft coupling. I can drive around the driveway but when Im on the road it scrapes badly.

Will the rear springs off a live axle commy sedan fit the rear of a vr wagon?

I get that and I was thinking that it might be the fuel pressure regulator as this was the solution to the problem in my vr commodore. I have old keys too so I might replace them too but they are rather expensive, especially if that is not the problem.

Cool. I did that and he asked me what I did. I said ""my mate has a tech 2 scanner" He went and checked the car and came back telling me that the globe was taken out and he wont pass the car until I fix it :bang: Rules are rules and I just have to cop it on the chin.

The car wont pass rego if the airbag light stays on, or if the globe was removed as the beeps will still be heard if not cleared. Unless of course the rego dude turns a blind eye.

Yeah I put some silicone around the edge of the pump housing that attaches to the engine, but not on the seal. I nearly put some on the rear seal, I knew I should have done it for added safety. I put some around where the reservoir meets the pump. I had a look at the fins when they came out...

It should only be a little globe. I think you have to take the plastic surrounds off to access the globe. The vr acclaim will have this light as my vr exec (lower spec than yours) has it too.

I decided to have a go at replacing the seals on my V6 power steering pump. All went well but I am having trouble putting the snap ring on. I tried putting a screwdriver in the little hole on the pump and then pushing by hand/fingers to get the snap ring in but the plate keeps bouncing out...

Do you have the air conditioning compressor and do you have LHS and RHS external mirrors?

I used permatex (sensor safe) on my inlet manifold gaskets when I replaced them last month. Have you plugged in all the vacuum hoses? My car idled terribly for a few minutes after installation but its all good now.

My light keeps coming on too after I replaced the low pressure hose on my power steering pump. I lost a lot of fluid doing that so it must have got on the sensors or something. I will check codes as well.
