There should only be one plug for the headlights, the black plug your talking about with just one pin is ignition 21v which you don't need to worry about. Try swapping the left and right side bulbs. If it works in the left, then you know its not the bulb. The bulb just may have never have worked.

Ive decided the knock sensors are too much of a pain in the arse to get out and torque right. If I take off the heater hose and flush water through there and do everything everyone else said (except not take out the thermostat because I have a supercharger and that looks like an equally pain in...

Just on the lifter sound. When I bought my car it did it on startup, quite noticeably. But since I have changed to Shell Helix Ultra 5w40, it has completely gone, engine is smooth as silk now.

Also VT's are square and VX's are round. VX ones have a chrome ring around them.
