    Vf2 SS's, who's still got their's from new?

Well, my MY17 VF2 SS wagon wasn't quite 'new' as such, but still was less than a year old/13,500Kms when I bought it. Now just turned over 40K and going strong. Would I sell it? I can't imagine why I would sell it, it's a wonderful vehicle, but I said that about my Yamaha Royal Star too but I...

Extra Battery in the back of our VF Evoke wagon, ex vic police

I fitted a couple of USB ports and 12v outlets plus a 240v inverter to my second battery. I didn't see the point of removing it since the cover is going to still be there anyway to cover the bloody great hole they cut into the wall to fit the battery.

    Weird GPS function

I guess I'll have to drive around looking for accidents to get that picture. :) Thanks for your comments folks. Looks like it's a standard feature. I'm a bit gobsmacked that it's still active and updated since they stopped manufacture, considering they haven't updated the speed limit display...

    Weird GPS function

First, a reminder. I own an Ex Vic Police MY17 VF series 2 wagon. A few weeks ago I drove into Melbourne city for some stupid reason. It was night, dark, and raining. I mentioned to my passenger that we’ll probably see a few accidents on the way. And without fail we saw 3 accidents (all front...

    Trying to locate oversize rotors

Thanks all. I've gone with the SpareBox DBA42078S rotors. They were a lot less than what Holden quoted, plus they dropped the price by $100 cos they like the look of my undies (I'm guessing). Yeah, they cost a bit but what do you do? Thanks again folks.

    Trying to locate oversize rotors

Hi folks I have a MY17 VF series 2 Commodore SS Sportswagon, (6.2l V8) (ex Vic police) that will need some slotted front brake rotors in the near future. These are a little unusual in that they are 345mm diameter rather than the usual 321mm. I've tried a few local suppliers who don't have them...

VF Sportwagon dead as a dodo. Thinking caps on, please... :)

My ex VicPol wagon has an isolation relay next to the second battery. This relay does not pull in until the car is running so the second battery has no part in the starting process and can be completely removed if you don't need it. I would be looking at the starter solenoid being faulty. Seeing...

    Jamming In The Garage

Haven't played for nearly 50 years but bought this wonderful bass a few years back. Amazing tones for a short scale. Now if I can get my arthritic fingers to use it I'll be happy.

    shannons insurance

Asked for a quote from Shannons a couple years ago and got interrogated about a few minor speeding fines I had - you know the ones, a couple K over the limit. They wanted the exact date and code of each fine. Who the hell remembers that ****? Went with RACV instead.

What octane fuel do you use?

Actually, the word is 'hygroscopic" meaning to absorb moisture from the air. But who cares?

Days of the week to get your vehicle service done.

I took mine in for a major service some years ago. Came in to pick it up and while they were showing me what wonderful piece of work they had done I asked, "Where's my battery, the new one I had fitted a month ago"? There was this ratty ancient old battery in it's place. After an hour's...

Alloy wheel noise. Is this possible.

I don't understand this question. If they are directional you'd find that the left side would be on backwards and the right side correct (or vice versa). Can you buy lefthand tires and righthand tires? I've never heard of it.

    VF SS first modifications

My opinion on tires. I'm currently running stock 18" rims and I'm happy with what they do. Any larger rims I put myself in this scenario: you're driving way out in the sticks and you've just shredded a tire. You go for your spare only to recall that six months ago you used your spare and never...

    Polishing the SS

I have a 2017 black SS Sportswagon and I absolutely HATE washing the damn thing. You've got to wash it every few days too otherwise it looks very shabby. Updating GPS maps

I tried the "gimme an upgrade when you do the servicing" thing at the dealer in November. The answer? "Sure, it'll cost you $128." Thanks very much, considering the 'new' maps are probably the same as what's in there already. I didn't take them up on their very kind offer.

    Updating GPS maps

MY17 SS VF2 wagon I've been noticing some serious errors in the GPS lately. My sort of humour. :) Well, after a few days of enjoyment driving this beastie around I have to say it's definitely ex-cop and in near perfect condition. What other cars did you consider when buying?

Some years ago I bought a very sad VH wagon from the local wrecker. Dual fuel, 4.2 V8, auto. Went very well for years after a few items were fixed up. This was my second V8, the first being a Ford 5.8 panel van. After the VH, a VT 3.6 V6 came into my life and served me well but the radiator died...

Thanks for those replies guys. After a chat with the seller and a look in the manual, it's definitely ex-police. Not a pursuit vehicle, but probably used for the daily donut runs. It had a run in with an object dropped from a truck. Bent the bonnet and the passenger A pillar a bit. Sold at...

Hi folks I'm looking to buy a 2017 'ex government department' SS VF II 6.2Ltr wagon in great nick. The question is: what government departments use these vehicles? Possibly a clue: it has two batteries, a cargo barrier, and a fire extinguisher. I'm thinking police, RTA etc. Any ideas? Thanks all.

Vh sle clicking noise from rear help?

My VH wagon had a similar problem. Whenever I went over a speed hump there was a massive metallic crashing noise that drove me insane. Turns out I'd left a box full of tools in the back. It was easy to fix too - a set of good earplugs did the trick.

Hi folks Have a VH with a 253 running petrol and LPG through a quadrajet carby. The trouble is most of the time it's idling up to around 1500rpm even when hot.
