Well has some spare time today so went for a drive out to the wreckers picked up some door cards then to spotlight for some microsuede.
After a couple hours fiddling the end result is pretty decent...

Smoothed stereo surround and headunit. The shifter surround turned out dodgy as it was my first attempt. I have also done the one for the manual which turned out a hella lot better.
Well i forked out for an exchange rack. Cept when i was removing the old one i thought u must get new tie rod ends with it so didnt put too much effort into looking after the old ones. Couple hits with a hammer and they come out easy enough. Go in to echnage the rack and find out it doesnt...

Ahh dont worry ive just been told that with a manual pcm it will still select 1st reverse park etc just wont change up gears. I freaked out for a moment there

Just wondering if there is a difference between the computer and loom used in a S1 or S2 VS manual.
I am about to do a manual conversion on my VS1 with a T5 and would like to get a manual computer but can only find them for the VS2 with the getrag.
Well the chance has come up for me to get all the hardware i need for a manual conversion into my VS1 using a Vp a mate bought for the motor.
Now the pedal box, bellhousing etc should bolt up fine as long as i get the flywheel ballanced to match the auto flexplate. Where im getting confused...

In all honesty removing the rear seat is the easiest and quickest way..... It isnt easy to remove a 6' speaker through a 5 1/2' hole... First time i replaced rear speakers i just pulled out the cover and did it that way.... took ages and was a real bitch.... second time i removed the rear seat...
