07 VE omega... Causing much pain! Check engine and stability control lights.

Hi guys. My 2008 VE Berlina cuts out randomly as you come to a stop. We've been chasing fault codes and have replaced O2 left bank sensors, park/neutral transmission switch. Still doing it so Holden mechanics advised to replace fuel pump. Problem Returned 2 months later. Do my symptoms sound...

    P0850 error - Park/Neutral Inhibitor switch

Yes, he's reset the codes many times. The blokes across the road from the Holden dealership came across to scan it with their scan tool today. Between them all they came to the conclusion that the fuel pump might be on the way out. The car was hard to start a few weeks back. Since replacing...

    P0850 error - Park/Neutral Inhibitor switch

Mechanic thinks the fuel pump is on the way out. $600 to replace. God, I've spent $700 on O2 sensors and the park neutral switch so far. Devastated.

    WK Statesman upper strut mount

The bearing was replaced. The springs are FE2s. Did have King Lows but the ride was too harsh. The FE2 springs were fine prior to fitting the King Lows.

    P0850 error - Park/Neutral Inhibitor switch

Car has cut out twice while driving since replacing the park/neutral switch. Mechanic scanned again. Same error codes. Left bank O2 sensors and park/neutral switch!!! Mechanic looking at the car again tomorrow. Hope he figures it out!!!

    WK Statesman upper strut mount

The mechanic is certain the bearing was put together properly. When someone's in the car turning the steering wheel from side to side, crouching down looking at the spring you can see the spring juddering across, as if it's being caught on something. What could be holding onto the spring?

    WK Statesman upper strut mount

Mechanic replaced the bearing. Put everything back together. The creaking when you turn the steering wheel is still there!! The spring kinda jumps when the steering is turned. It's as if the spring is catching on something. He didn't have time to disassemble the strut and I have to go back...

    WK Statesman upper strut mount

I'm going through the same issue. Front left strut. Issue presented itself after putting FE2 springs back in after King Lows. Cursing. My mechanic rekkins he'll take a look at the next service in a week or two. Strange thing is, it's intermittent! One day I'll drive to work and...

    407K and finally died

180k on mine. Radiator replaced about 20k back. Inlet manifold gasket leaking a tiny amount of oil into the water but I've lived with that for years. Mechanic said there's no rush to replace the gasket. That's it. Nothing else. Still runs super smooth. The VY is such a great model.

    need help with lowering.

Yep! Totally agree! Had to rip out the Lows in my sedan. I felt every bump on the road. Speedbumps had to be taken at 5kph. Got annoying after 1 day!

    need help with lowering.

Stay the hell away from Pedders. They charge an arm and a leg. What exactly do you want to do? Raise the height with new springs in order to maintain roadworthiness?
  14. Krilnik

    need help with lowering.

Technically Lows are illegal. I had Lows in my VY. Sat 340mm front and rear. However the ground clearance was 105mm from the lowest point.
  15. Krilnik

    need help with lowering.

In Victoria, according to VicRoads not only do you have to meet 100mm ground clearance, you also have to maintain 2/3rds of the vehicles original suspension travel. For a VY sedan: 350mm from centre hub to guard - front 355mm from centre hub to guard - rear. King Lows sit lower than...

Lowered springs - how stiff is your ride?

Well I couldn't handle the bone jarring, breast jiggling ride. FE2s back in the front. King lows in the rear. Sits even, well above the legal ride height. Super smooth ride. No more clanging or rattles. Looked great being so low, but the firm ride got the better of me!

    P0850 error - Park/Neutral Inhibitor switch

Hi guys, hoping someone can help! A week ago my mechanic replaced both O2 sensors on the left bank. For the last few weeks, on occasions the car was hard to start and his scan generated error codes indicating that there was a problem with O2 sensors, left bank. Therefore, sensors replaced...

Does anyone here use liqui-moly oil additives?

I use the MOS2 anti friction additive with every 5000k oil change. I'm not convinced it does anything but I'm looking for longetivity from my ecotec. The yanks on the BITOG forums claim its some kind or miracle. Whatever. It's not that expensive. I'll keep using it. Yes, my oil is grey...

Lowered springs - how stiff is your ride?

Thanks guys. I found the King Lows dropped the ride height from FE2 by 20mm. I'll look into new struts.

Lowered springs - how stiff is your ride?

So I've got King Lows (KHRL-47) in the front of the VY V6. Stock front struts. Super firm ride. I feel every bump. Have even lowered tire pressure to 29psi. There's a whole heap of rattling and clanking going on when I drive over a speedbump, extremely slow of course. Everyone says " you...

King Springs Low Sedan. Ride Height-Useful Info. Clubsport V8

When I had FE2 springs fitted it sat 365mm front and rear. I tried to drop my ride height to 350mm. I rang King Springs to obtain the right spring codes. Below is my story. King advised I use KHFL47 (low) front and KHFL46 (low) rear to obtain a ride height of 350mm all around. Fitted...

    Replacing oxygen sensors

    - Replace air filter. - Replace fuel filter. - Clean throttle body with Nulon foaming air intake cleaner. - Clean the MAF sensor. - Pump your tires up to 40psi to increase rolling resistance. The rough ride would drive you insane. - Take off from lights gently. Never rev above 2000rpm if it...

Anyone running King spring KHRL-45HD in the rear?

Hey guys. Is anyone running King spring "sport low" KHRL-45HD in the rear of your VY? I've got a set but I'm hearing conflicting stories. I've been told they'll lower my hub to guard from the current FE2 height of 365mm to 340mm, 355mm, and even higher than what I've got now! So, does anyone...

    Repco intake cleaner

    Repco intake cleaner

4 month thread dig here but I didn't wanna start a new thread. I used Nulon Foaming Air Intake cleaner on the weekend before an oil change. I only used a small amount through the throttle body. I cannot believe the positive impact this has had on performance. It has improved idling and power...

Shell Helix HX5 vs Valvoline Engine Armour Oil

I use Valvoline 10w30 every 5000ks in my VY. 6 litres of this stuff is on special at Repco this week for $33 but I'm not due for an oil change for another 3000k's so I'll grab a bottle this weekend in my travels.

    fuel consumption, whats yours?

I average 11.6. Mostly city traffic. I haven't hit the reset button in 1000 k's so it's a decent overall average indication of fuel usage.
