Cheers mate! Its been over 12 months since I've been to GM Motorsport but when I was dealing with them they were very professional and patient with all the questions I had for them. I have all there products, Ripshift, Ramjet and one of there cam grinds, Can't recommend them enough. The MAF tune...

stealthy baby cam for a daily driven work ute? advice please!!!

Gm Motorsport also off 2 small cams, "Super stock" and "Stealth" could also be an option. Cant seem to find much about them on Youtube though. If your really worried about fuel and sound then Id agree with the posts above. Do the all standard bolt ons, full exhaust, OTR and tune then if you...

    Cammed BLACKVE SS ute

What kind of difference did running E85 make to fuel consumption, power and drivability? Have been thinking of getting mine changed over but am still on the fence.

    Clutch hose issue.

G'day all, I'm having some issues with my VE SS, I was driving home today when suddenly the clutch went straight to the floor. I pulled the car over and stuck my head under the bonnet. The main hydraulic hose that travels from the firewall down to the clutch had blown off the firewall...

Some more messing around today with the car. I was looking at ways to hide the hoses that run over the top of the throttle body. Seeing that I can't leave well enough alone I decided that I would remove the canister purge solenoid and put it some were out of the way. I had read that a lot of...

    Cam selection 224/228 OR 224/230

Do you know anymore details, Like the lift and LSA? I'm also lead to believe that the type of supercharger ie Centrifugal or valley mount has an effect on what type of cam is best suited. I'm sure someone will know for sure. Also when selecting a cam the best thing you can do is to try and...

Pleasant surprise today, A mate of mine sent me a message "Is this you fat arming it?" A good feeling knowing someone liked the look of my car enough to put it on the flyer. :D [/IMG]

+1 for Bowdens car care, Its the only brand of products I use on my ute cant fault there stuff. There an Australian based company also, a bonus in my books :spot on:

    Gunnazz SSV.

So after putting it off for quite a number of weeks, I'm finally motivated to work on the car again. I was feeling a bit burnt out with it for what ever reason :hmmm: Anyways I've been slowly getting the engine bay looking the way I want and trying to clean up some of the mess. So far I...

    SSV AC Issue.

G'day all, As the title suggests, I'm having issues with my AC. I was driving to work and about 10 min into the drive the AC cut out, its hast returned since. I have since checked the following, AC belt is still there although the compressor is not engaging. The compressor clutch relay...

    Tune question?

It was sent away to a company to have it unlocked the first time and the second time it was unlocked by the original tuner.

    Tune question?

I've had 3 people tune my car in the past and for 2 of the 3 times the ECU has been locked. Meaning that no one else can access the ECU with out the password. I had to pay to have it returned back to stock then the new tuner could put his tune on it. I'm not sure if Mace locks his tunes, I'm...

    Gunnazz SSV.

To easy thanks guys, its something to look into. Having a spare diff in case something gos wrong could come in handy. I've also been told by a few people that the aftermarket centers can have strength and noise issues and that a genuine diff is the way to go.

    Gunnazz SSV.

Thanks mate, You've got one hell of a ride yourself, would love to whack a supercharger on mine. That would fix any low down torque issues  Thanks for the advise on the diff, I'm still looking into it but a ratio change is definitely on the cards. Did you buy a second hand HSV diff and...

    Gunnazz SSV.

Tough :rofl2: Seriously though the tune is what makes it, I hate driving it in traffic but on the open road or normal light driving its great. My fuel consumption is a touch high at 20L per 100 but I'm not too worried about that side of things. Its all personal opinion though some guys would...

Also for anyone thats interested hears a couple of photos from the build. I don't have any of the completed engine bay, I'm currently doing some dress up mods. Once the madness that is known as Xmas is over I will spend some time getting everything back together and chuck some more photos up.

Cheers mate, No I don't know the exact range but with my set up, the power seems to really come on hard at 3-3500 rpm and doesn't stop until redline.

    Gunnazz SSV.

Thanks mate, its getting there slowly. The SR II cam is very lumpy, Huge power but you do loose some drivability down low. I use the car for weekend duties now as its a handful in traffic etc. I'm in love with the cam now but it did take some getting used to. If your thinking of getting one Id...

[$1300 for 13 seconds] VT Wagon, can it be done?

I know its a completely different car, larger engine etc but this will give you a place to start. At the end of the day if I was debt free and looking for something to kill some time over a couple weekends, Id give something like this a go. 13s for $1300 - Project Bluebird - Episode One - YouTube

Can anyone comment on the BILSTEIN B8's?

I have them in my ute, Can't rate them high enough. I've had coil overs in the past and the Bilstein / Eibach combo I have now is an improvement in every aspect. The ride is "firm" but in no means unconformable, In fact they ride very similar to my mates AMG.

    VE Series II Headlight crazing

I brought the car brand new, has been stored in a garage from about 3 months old to now. I only use Bowdens cleaning products on it when I wash it once a week, I'm pretty sure its just a crappy batch of lights, Drivers side is by far the worst though. I might have to chase Holden Customer...

    VE Series II Headlight crazing

I have the same issue, was told the same thing when I went to Holden. I've owned the car since new and have only ever hand washed it. They were happy to try and sell me a new set for around $700 though! I think the only option at this point is to keep an eye on Ebay for a good second hand set.

Coil Overs or spring shock combo?

I've had both on my cars and I personally prefer the spring/shock combo that is on my SS now. I originally had Pedders coil overs fitted to my SV6, with the car doped to about 130mm off the ground. Once I had fitted them I didn't touch the height even though I thought I would. The ride was quite...
