Hi everyone, I've been going through old threads about fuel consumption for my car, and it seems to be surprisingly good compared to all the reviews.
For instance, to and from work, around town, etc, I'm getting 9.4l per 100kms (measured over 2 full tanks).
Recently did a full highway tank run...
Hi Jason, it's a VS ute, so live rear axle. It's set up for drifting. I've got the rear set up how I want it, it's just the front end that feels soft. If I could post a pic of it transitioning, you'd see.it's sort of flops over the front end.
Hi mace, word on the just commodores street is that you may sell front VS coil overs? If so how stiff are they, are they adjustable and price?
Thanks, Roy
I've been under Utes from VP series 1 to VS series 2 and they are all the same underneath. All manual, not sure if there is a difference between auto and manual
Hi everyone, I've put the aftermarket exhaust (front of y pipe back) next to stock ecotec exhaust both from a ute and they look pretty close to lining up. I've done some research and it says that the sedans don't line up but nothing on Utes. Anyone have experience in this area?
thanks,
Roy
Hi everyone, there is a VT with a vy l67 that has been converted to a getrag 5 speed on eBay for $4500. I was wondering if it was worth it to buy it just for the engine setup. This would be my ultimate setup to put into my VS drift ute.
Ive read that it's a bit of a hassle and seems pretty...
The getrag pressure plate is half an inch smaller then the getrag flywheel. I'd have to drill out bolt holes for the pressure plate to be bolted to it. You live, you learn, you waste money.
Hi everyone. I'm having problems. I'm using a stock ecotec t5 flywheel, a getrag clutch and a t5 pressure plate on a getrag gearbox. After getting the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate on the engine and bolted up the gearbox. Hand cranked the engine (to make sure everything is sweet) and found...
I checked the handbook, and it says 2100 for my v6 auto. I just want to know if they chucked a cheap one on or they put the highest rated one on. I guess I'll have to get it checked out by a towbar shop
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if my towbar on my crewman is stock. It's a trailboss. Plus I want to know the towing limit of the towbar (not the car). The little plaque at the bottom of it damaged and can't read it.
Thanks Roy
So I found one...10 minutes away, brand new, never taken out of packaging genuine hsv...and he has a spare. $150 each. Was tempted to buy the other one and eBay it up.
I'm wanting to buy one of those big wings that looks like it should be on the back of a superbird mopar and have a couple ofquestions.
Are they rare? I've only ever seen one in real life.
Can they be attached to the body or do you need a hard tonneau cover?
What price do that go for?
anyone...
Hi everyone. I've just bought a vz v6 auto crewman and it's having problems (surprise surprise it didn't do it on the couple of test drives).when the car hasn't been used for several hours it starts no problem. If I go to the shops and come back out, I'm locking/unlocking, turning the key to...
Ideally I'd love to be able to put a s1 ecotec flywheel onto my s2 ecotec and use a t5 clutch for my getrag gearbox. I don't think im that lucky.
No, the getrag clutch and gearbox are still in the car and the Buick clutch is still on the engine and gearbox but out of the car.
The reason I ask is, I have the following;
Vp Buick T5 and clutch,
Vs series 1 with ecotec and T5 gearbox and,
Vs series 2 ecotec with a getrag that needs a clutch replacement. Was wondering if I could make something up out of that.
I measured the steering rack. Both sides have 150mm of movement each side. Found that it wasn't centred. The side that was rubbing hard is 77mm from the end of the rack with the wheel straight. The side that didn't rub was 73mm. Readjusted and I'm getting rubbing on both sides. Now to find some...
I've been thinking about the problem, could it be that the steering rack/wheel isn't centred? I've got an aftermarket steering wheel in it, maybe when they did a wheel alignment originally they didn't centre it and the tie rods bump stops prevented tyre rub.
Positive. I remember I had to wind out the tie rod end a surprising amount to get the wheel straight. Maybe I've got to much camber dialled into the knuckle?
Next question. The passenger side wheel rubs on the steering arm and castor/sway bar a fair bit earlier then the drivers side wheel (the wheel on the passenger side prevents stops it. Any ideas what the problem could be? It hasn't had a wheel alignment yet but there seems to be a big difference...
