my first one were just standard sizes, second was standard but with 8pk main pulley, now i have the SC overdrive pulley 8pk all have had the threads on the front same as in this, maby mine were all the race style

I'd say that's the difference. The standard replacement looks nothing like that. The standard replacement is pretty much identical to the OEM.

Might not be worth it though. Think I paid $60-$70 for the puller and install tool all up.
